HH4 Data Centre

IDNO for adoption of HH4 Data Centre, Hemel Hempstead

Eclipse Power have been appointed by NTT as the IDNO for the adoption of the contestable grid connection works feeding their new HH4 Data Centre in Hemel Hempstead. The IT space which totals 9,600 sqm will provide a secure, high availability environment solution for housing IT and network systems, offering a maximum of 24MW critical IT load to the initial development, As the IDNO, we are providing a 132kV 60MW capacity grid connection. The facility is metered at 132kV via Eclipse Power’s on-site 132kV switchgear, and will allow additional load growth and or connection to further NTT DC facilities.

IDNO working with ICPs

We will be working closely with the appointed ICP to develop an effective adoptable design that meets the Data Centres specific requirements’. As an IDNO. we are not constrained by onerous and prescriptive standards and the solution will not be ‘over-engineered’ as it sometimes the case with the DNO. Eclipse Power are adopting ABB’s Hybrid PASS M0 (Plug and Switch System) 132kV switchgear, which contains a complete switchgear bay in a single module, helping to minimise the on-site substation footprint. The commercial solution which we provided also ensures NTT can benefit from lower Use of System charges in the first 5 years following energisation. We achieve this by managing the ‘ramping-up’ of agreed capacity over time to meet their expected growth plans, whilst still providing the flexibility of making more capacity available, more speedily if required.

Uckfield EV Charging Hub

Eclipse Power Networks have been appointed by e-Smart Networks as the IDNO for an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Hub in Uckfield.

The site will be a solar powered ‘Electric hub’, featuring ultra high power chargers, capable of adding up to 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes for road users.
