Electricity Connections. Simplified.
Eclipse Power Networks have been appointed by e-Smart Networks as the IDNO for an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Hub in Uckfield.
The site will be a solar powered ‘Electric hub’, featuring ultra high power chargers, capable of adding up to 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes for road users. In total, there will be 24 EV charging points on its forecourt, with a two-storey service station with facilities where customers could wait for their vehicles to charge.
The associated Solar Farm would be capable of producing 5.5MW of power with battery storage also on site. The site will be connected at 33kV from the UKPN primary substation, with the outgoing 33kV cables being adopted by Eclipse Power on completion.
The project is situated on the A22 and is part of a wider initiative to upgrade the UKs motorways with EV charging infrastructure.
When it comes to EV charging solutions, Eclipse Power Networks seek to deliver an innovative, cost-effective outcome to assist clients with their EV charging infrastructure plans.
We can offer clients several significant benefits over the ‘standard’ DNO Connection to the grid.
By working with suitably accredited ICPs, we can provide safe and intelligent networks that are built to last.As the appointed IDNO we will work with all stakeholders involved in the Uckfield project to ensure a cost-effective engineering solution is designed to add value.
In addition we will negotiate with the DNO and National Grid on the client’s behalf using our industry expertise to arrange the most suitable point of connection (PoC) and Contestable solution.
