We are proud to congratulate Charles Deacon and Chelsea Millington-Latham on completing their Level 4 qualification with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) that they’ve been working on for 9 the past months.
The qualification offers a comprehensive understanding of key leadership and management principles. It covers essential topics such as effective leadership, team establishment, motivation for improved performance, workplace organisation, and delegation. The emphasis is placed on enhancing management roles, decision-making, and people development, while also fostering the growth of personal leadership styles.
The training, completed through The Tess Group, will help them in continuing to support our team at Eclipse Power and most importantly to develop their skillsets as individuals.
Charles Deacon, Managing Director of Eclipse Power Solutions shared his key takeaways:
“Undertaking the ILM course alongside developing a new team and business unit has been invaluable. First, it’s taught me a lot about myself and why I approach things the way I do. This level of self-awareness has helped me relate to my team, understand the sort of people they are and given us tools to work together more effectively.
“Being able to apply what we have learnt in practice over time, with a growing team, has been very effective – far more so than undertaking a one-off course. I have learnt a huge amount over the last year, in areas I hadn’t considered before, which has been excellent for my own personal development and that of the team.”
Laura MacDonald who worked with Charles and Chelsea during their 9-month course shared her insights on their achievement:
“Not only did Chelsea and Charlie pass the course with flying colours but they brought a wealth of discussion, debate, curiosity, and motivation with them to make every workshop and assignment a captivating discussion. To say this experience was a pleasure would be a massive understatement and I’m so proud of them both. Congratulations Chelsea and Charlie on this well-deserved achievement!”
Chelsea Millington-Latham, Head of Standard Connections at Eclipse Power Networks discusses her experience and how she plans to put her qualification into practice:
“I have benefited greatly from this course; It has helped me reflect on my own leadership style as well as understand what contributes to a high performing team. With the growth of Eclipse and working in an industry that is always changing, being a role model for others is especially important to me and this course has taught me the fundamental skills needed to do just that.
“I also learnt the importance of mentoring and reached out to Women in Utilities and am now fortunate enough to have my own mentor providing further support and guidance on leadership and career development.”
At Eclipse Power, we are deeply committed to the ongoing training and development of our team. We believe that investing in our employees’ professional growth not only enhances their individual skillsets but also drives the success of the group as a whole. By offering opportunities for continuous learning and leadership development, we aim to empower our team members to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to our collective goals.
This commitment to development is a key part of our culture and the values we promote within the Eclipse Power Group:
Claire Noble, Head of Talent at Eclipse Power, expressed that “It’s been great to see the development from Charlie and Chelsea since starting this course, and I’m delighted to be working with Tess Group again to do our second cohort this year. I love nothing more than supporting people’s development and seeing them grow as a result”
We extend our congratulations to Charles and Chelsea and wish our next cohort the best of luck beginning their ILM training this September.
