A Team that’s Out of This World: Eclipse Power’s Experts

2025 is shaping up to be a big one for the Eclipse Power Group… But first, we wanted a moment to celebrate our team’s 2024 milestones!

Growing the team, strengthening the culture.

Motivating our team on our away day

Big Recruitment Wins

We kicked off 2024 with 47 people and ended with 61, growing our team by almost 30% with the help of Recruitment Talent Partners, who joined us in February. We’ve gained some invaluable team members while the existing team reached incredible milestones.

Employee Survey Says

Our annual employee survey saw an overwhelmingly positive response with 89% of employees engaged.  Our scores have particularly improved in recognition, encouraging development and progress at work. Our teams know what is expected of them and feels someone cares about them.

Culture in Acton

Our company brief days have evolved this year as the team has grown and made the office a hub of energy when the day rolls around. As we’ve grown, we’ve also set up a new base in London, giving the team another spot for collaboration, catch-ups, and sparking innovation over coffee.

We’ve made impressive strides on our culture roadmap, from a successful change workshop led by Caroline Sargent in November to with several team-driven initiatives that are really making an impact; My personal favourite being our fun fact of the day, provided by design engineer, Davide Fenu alongside our CEO Q&A session, and the new addition of “learning of the month” . Many of the team also came together this year for an insightful ‘Expectations Day’ in which our Business Development, Delivery and Operations teams came together to learn about a ‘Day in the life of’ each other, learn more about each other’s  roles and how they can best work together to ensure a smooth customer journey for all.

The Eclipse Power away day was a big hit this year, featuring a fun construction challenge that brought everyone together for some (friendly) competition & the end of year Christmas party kept the rivalry going with a lively murder mystery mission… (No Eclipse Power employees were harmed in the process).

2024 also saw the beginning of our Insights training. Using the psychometric tool to learn more about our personalities and how we interact with each other has already sparked some thought-provoking conversations about how we work together. With everyone at Eclipse Power set to complete the training by the end of 2025, we’re looking forward to hearing their results and integrating this language into our everyday development.

Investing in Our People: Learning, Growth, and Development

182 Days of Training: With more than half of 2024 filled with team development, our highlights included; the completion of various technical courses, our leadership team going through high performing team programme coaching and Chelsea Millington-Latham & Charles Deacon completing their qualifications with the Institute of Leadership and Management. Our second cohort are now underway with their training, setting the stage for another year filled with growth & development.

PDPs on the Horizon: Our team’s personal development plans continue to drive our team’s individual growth, with many gearing up for new goals as we start 2025 off.

Apprenticeship Shout-Outs: We celebrated several team members undertaking apprenticeship qualifications this year, furthering their individual skills to support both their own development and the development of the business. All our experts passed with flying colours, just as we knew they would!

Lunch & Learns: We continued our monthly learning sessions in which members of the team shared their wisdom on different topics. This has been a great way to bring everyone together and to remind us that every day is a school day…

1 Year of Eclipse Power Solutions

Our grid consultancy business recently celebrated its first year, marking incredible milestones along the way. From expanding our team of experts to hosting our first strategy day—and most importantly delivering innovative solutions to connect clients to the grid. All while actively engaging with the ongoing Connections Reform and delivering an incredible webinar debut with almost 200 attendees.

With Eclipse Power Optimise being the newest addition to the Eclipse Power Group, we’re excited to see how our new connection solutions will power up the energy industry.

Away day - team building

Working Smarter: New Systems and Processes

This year, we kept the momentum going with new systems and processes, rolling out the Stage and Gate framework, Monday.com & Ultimo as well as trialing and integrating new AI-powered solutions into our operations such as Kraken Flex and FYLD, to name a few. AI has certainly sparked exciting conversations, and we’re looking forward to seeing where it takes the industry next—powered by the expertise and innovation of our team.

Making Connections, Driving Results

The Eclipse Power Group hosted and attended numerous events in 2024. We hit the ground running with our EV Customer Delivery Day, meeting face-to-face with clients to provide clarity on our processes and collaborate on shared challenges. It was a great success—and an even better opportunity to bring everyone at the heart of our business together in one room.

Among others, Solar & Storage Live and Data Centre Dynamics were standout exhibition moments, where we had the chance to connect with both new and familiar industry experts at our stand and as speakers on various panels. Both were great opportunities to talk about some exciting developments for the Eclipse Power group as we head into the new year.

Community, Connection and Celebration

We took part in several key awareness days internally including International Women’s Day, World Mental Health week, Alcohol Awareness Day and World Food Day. Each event gave our team the chance to share personal stories and experiences, bringing a wealth of perspectives to our group, more of which we hope to share and celebrate next year.  We also supported National Walking Month in May and completed our second walking challenge which resulted in us raising over £2000 for charity.

2024 also marked our second year partnering with the Women in Utilities Network. Several team members have gained valuable mentors and connections through the organisation, and we’re excited to continue building this partnership and supporting greater female representation in utilities for 2025.

What’s next?

“2024 has been a huge year for growth andClaire Noble - Head of Group Business Services progress at Eclipse Power, both in terms of expanding our team and further embedding our culture. It’s been great to watch the team collectively & individually achieve so much. As we look ahead, we’re excited to build on this momentum, continuing to recognise, celebrate, and develop our incredible team across the Eclipse Power Group.”

As we move into 2025, the Eclipse Power Group is gearing up for another year of growth, innovation, and connections. In addition to ongoing efforts to enhance system integration, streamline processes, and explore AI applications, championing equality, diversity, and inclusion remains a top priority. We’re committed to fostering an environment where everyone can thrive which is why this year we will also enhancing our approach to objectives, rewards, recognition, and development to ensure that talent is celebrated and supported at every stage.

The future’s looking bright, and we can’t wait to see where 2025 takes us.
