Alex Howison

Alex Howison is the Development Director for Eclipse Power Optimise, a new service offering from the Eclipse Power Group. Having joined Eclipse Power in 2024, Alex brings 25 years of experience with extensive leadership and expertise in renewable energy and grid connection strategy.

Prior to Eclipse Power Optimise, Alex’s career spans key roles across the UK energy sector, where he has driven grid connection strategies, contributed to evolving grid policy and risk mitigation procedures, and delivered significant renewable energy projects. His experience includes leading teams to secure multi-gigawatt transmission and distribution connections and navigating complex pre-construction challenges, with a proactive approach to policy development that has led to impactful changes and innovation.

As Development Director, Alex leads the growth and strategic vision of Eclipse Power Optimise, ensuring customers benefit from smart, localised, and cost-effective solutions that streamline the connection process and unlock new opportunities.

Away from work, Alex spends time with family and friends but also enjoys classic cars, cinema, reading, and live gigs. He loves travelling, with trekking the South American rainforest, exploring the Cambodian jungle, and skiing down Mont Blanc among his favourite experiences
