Business Development Manager – Job Purpose:

We are currently looking for a suitably skilled person to join our team of Business Development Managers to assist in growing the existing connections portfolio for the company exponentially over the next 5 years. The candidate must have previous experience of working for an IDNO in this capacity and to have existing connections with a network of ICP’s. This role is part of a growing team and will be expected to provide additional support for all IDNO activities.

Our networks span all sectors from HV & LV Industrial, Commercial, Residential projects and EV charging infrastructure. The role would be part of a customer focussed team to operate and maintain the network within a 24/7/365 environment.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Help to build growth in our customer base outperforming our Business target for the Distribution markets including Residential, Industrial & Commercial, EV & Renewables.
  • Utilise advanced marketing techniques to support the growth.
  • Develop strategic opportunities greater than transactional customer connections.
  • Research and build relationships with new/existing end clients, development infrastructure providers.
  • Negotiate and close new projects/accounts.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Secure new enquiries and processing applications for Asset Value Contributions.
  • Help to grow/support the broader BD team in market brand promotion.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, service providers and local authorities.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements  

  • Minimum 2yrs+ Engineering experience, 2yrs+ BD/Sales experience.
  • Experience required in the Transmission/Distribution & Renewables markets dealing with DNO / IDNO / ICP experience would be an advantage.
  • Intermediate or above Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft office applications and tools.
  • Ability to prioritise work activity to deliver business requirements.
  • Work flexibly to suit business / customer demands.
  • Excellent written, oral communications and presentation skills.
  • Have a good technical/commercial understanding of Connection Agreements/Offers.
  • Bring a wide network of industry and customer contacts.

Renumeration:

  • Salary to be discussed based on experience
  • Discretionary Bonus – to be discussed
  • Medium term Sales Bonus – to be advised based on targets

This is a full time position, reporting to the Head of Business Development. Our Head office is located in Olney, Buckinghamshire and this role can be office based or remote. There will be some requirement for business travel within the UK, to head office or client meetings.
