Wicken Battery Storage Project – Planning Approved

22ndMay

Eclipse Power Generation have successfully gained planning permission for our latest generation project – Wicken Battery Storage Plant. Read More.

Wicken is a 5MW Battery Storage project in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire which will import electricity to the National Grid at times of demand.

The project successfully gained planning permission in March 2019 and is due to be completed by Q4 2019. The project itself was in planning for just under 4 months as the original application was submitted at the end of 2018 by the experienced Generation department at Eclipse Power.

The Battery Storage Plant import’s electricity when demand on the Network is at it’s lowest and stores the energy. Then when demand is at it’s highest, the energy is exported back onto the Grid to support the local electricity network.

The Generation department within Eclipse Power offer clients and Landowners full operational support services for developing, designing and constructing electrical power projects.

The service offered includes the full infrastructure and grid connection for the electrical power project.

Eclipse Power Generation are supporting the UK’s requirement for energy and assisting with the Governments energy generation targets. We are seeking suitable sites for development of embedded energy generation, including Battery Storage and Peaking Plants, and can fully support landowners for the entirety of the project.
